Can I wash these dry clean only pants?

Question; I have a pair of blue pants made of 58% cotton and 42% Lyocell, which say to be dry cleaned only. Can I hand wash them?

Answer; Yes you can safely hand wash those pants. Wash it in cold water to keep it from shrinking to much and use a soap that’s neutral in pH like Ecos to keep the color from fading. Soaps that are high in alkaline will remove color.  To much agitation will cause the lyocell to get fuzzy (hairy looking) and lose it’s smooth finish so don’t put it in the washer or dryer.  One last thing, it’s normal for Lyocell to feel stiff when it’s wet so don’t freak out if that happens and that’s another reason not to wash it in the machine because it can cause the material to break.

Thanks
