How to Remove a Lip Stick Stain.
A good deed for the day spells disaster, you helped the little old lady down the street with her garbage cans this morning and she was so grateful she gave you a hug. But she got lip stick on your shirt collar. Explain that one! Or quickly remove the stain before anyone can see it.
Always evaluate the stain, color and material before proceeding. If the color is sensitive or the material is delicate you must modify your technique.
Lip stick is an oil base product which can be easily removed with a good oil remover.
What is a oil remover you ask?
Liquid dish washing soap is a great oil remove because it’s designed to remove oils from your dishes. There are other degreasers on the market made with natural citrus based products.
Step One; Depending on the color, material and severity of the stain will depend on how much and what concentration of soap you will use. The more sensitive the color and material the weaker the concentration. Dilute the soap with water to create the solution you desire and apply it to the lip stick stain.
Step Two; Apply the solution to the stain.
Step Three; Tap with a brush until the lip stick marks start to break up.
Step Four; Rinse area thoroughly with fresh water.
Step Five; If necessary repeat steps one – four and increase strength of solution until the stain is removed or switch to a stronger degreaser.
Remember to always evaluated color and material. Test for color bleeding in a hidden area of the garment before proceeding with stain removal. Rubbing and scrubbing can cause color lost.
A good deed is always worth the effort.
