As a father of a boy and to a large extent still a boy myself, I have seen more than my share of grass stains. Grass stains on the knees or embedded in the seat of our pants from a day at the park. This drove my wife crazy. She would regularly ask how am I going to remove all these grass stains? I would reply don’t worry I am a professional. I have secret techniques to remove grass stains.
Choice of Products: Laundry Detergent, Enzyme Stain Remover and Borax.
Grass Stain: Vaska Laundry Detergent
- Create a spotting solution with 1 part laundry detergent and 5 parts water.
- Apply the solution directly to the grass stain.
- Tamp with a brush.
- Let the solution penetrate for 10-15 minutes.
- Launder as normal.
Embedded Grass Stain: Bac-Out by BioKleen a Enzyme Stain Remover
- Apply the enzyme directly to the embedded grass stain.
- Tamp with a brush.
- Let the solution penetrate for 1-2 hours.
- Launder as normal.
Stubborn Embedded Grass Stains: Borax a Sodium Borate
- Create a soaking solution with Borax and water per instructions.
- Soak the garment in the borax solution for several hours or over night.
- Launder as normal.
Each garment varies due to color and material of the garment. Seek professional help if necessary.
