How to remove Oil Stains

Oil stains at times are difficult to remove at home unless you know the secret. Let me introduce you to some green oil stain removers that we use in our green dry cleaner and are readily available at the local grocery stores.

Dawn Dishwashing Liquid:

If the stain starts to dissipate repeat the same steps or skip to Finishing Up.

If the first steps did not achieve adequate results then continue with a citrus base oil remover.

Dawn Dishwashing Liquid and CitraSolv:

Repeat these steps again if necessary.

When done removing the stain always finish by cleaning the entire item per manufacture care instructions. Even benign spotting agents such as these will oxidize and yellow over time.

Seek professional help if necessary. If you have a good relationship with your green dry cleaners they will be more than happy to help you with stain removal and cleaning questions.
