We all know the benefits of Orange Juice whether it comes from the natural form of an orange or from the processed form as concentrated juice. We also know there is no benefit to wearing the juice unless you are Lady GaGa creating a new fashion statement. What ever the reason if you have an orange juice stain that needs to be removed then follow the instructions bellow.
In a hidden area test the garment for colorfastness. Use a white towel, apply the spotting solution desired to the towel and blot the hidden area. Check the towel for color transfer.
Liquid laundry detergent is a great product to use as a pre spotter.
- Create a spotting solution of 1 part laundry detergent, 2 parts white distilled vinegar with 5 parts water.
- Apply the solution directly to the orange juice stain.
- Tamp (tap) with a brush to help the solution penetrate the orange juice stain.
- Let solution penetrate for 10-15 minutes.
- Blot with a wet white towel followed by a dry white towel.
- If the orange juice stain starts to dissipate then skip to Done Yet? Otherwise try a different spotting agent.

- Blot off with a wet white towel followed by a dry white towel.

Enzymes stain removers are a great stain removal product that is generally safe for most materials and colors. Enzyme stain removers can be found in the laundry department of most grocery stores or in pet stores.
- Use the same technique as with the vinegar. Apply a small amount of the enzyme stain remover onto the orange juice stain.
- Let enzymes stain remover penetrate for 1-2 hours, re-apply if it starts to dry out.
- Blot it with a wet white towel followed by a dry white towel.
- If necessary then reapply the enzyme stain remover onto the orange juice stain, let it rest for another 1-2 hours.
- Blot it with a wet white towel followed by a dry white towel.
- Be patient, enzymes are a great natural product but it requires more time for it to work.
For a large stained area or garments with sensitive dye it is best to soak the entire garment is the spotting solution of choice. This will help ensure even discoloration if it occurs.
Done Yet?
Whether this was a Lady GaGa fashion statement or an accidental orange juice spill clean the entire garment as recommended by the care label. Never leave garments unclean after using spotting or cleaning products. Over time the spotting agent can discolor, or yellow, and weaken the material.
Done!
