Fabricare 2012 – California Dry Clean Convention

The FABRICARE Show in Long Beach CA is the dry cleaning convention for our great state of California,  held every other year in July at the Long Beach Convention Center. Although it’s considered the California convention it is one of the premier conventions following the national convention. There were venders and attendees from around the country and even a few from around the world.

Again I was ask to be at the Miele and Veit equipment booth to help represent the certified green (Wet Clean) dry clean system. Interestingly, an attendee and his store manager came to the both specifically looking to speak with me, what an honor. Between the two of them, they had me answering questions for approximately an hour the first day. Then they came back the next day to grilled me for approximately 2 hours. All in all it was great to see the amount of enthusiasm within our industry surrounding green dry cleaning. To show their appreciation, a couple of the Miele management staff took me out for a day of drinking sea water, oh, I meant surfing.

California  leads the nation and the world with the most dry cleaners dedicated to solely using the Wet Clean system for dry clean only garments. In northern California that is a requirement by the Bay Area Green Business Program for any dry cleaner to become green business certified. So don’t be fooled by misleading claims of being  ”Organic” or  “GreenEarth,” they are not green certified.

We are here to provide you with a healthier, safer, sustainable way of dry cleaning and lead the world in making a change for the better by eliminating one more hazardous solvent from our lives. Together we will create a healthier place to live
