The new politically correct name for good old fashion hand lotion now is hand cream. It doesn’t matter what you call it or who makes it, Neutrogena, Lubriderm, Eucerin, Jergens, or boutique salons like Sephora and Body Shop, the main ingredient to remove is oil. Once you remove the oil the stain will dissipate. Oil based stains can be easily removed with a good oil remover.

Dishwashing liquid is a great product to start with because everyone has some in their home. My favorite is Dawn.

Dawn Dishwashing Liquid:

Oil stains are difficult to remove at home, if a stronger product is needed use a citrus based degreaser.

Dawn Dishwashing Liquid and CITRASOLV Degreaser:

Remember to always evaluated color and material. Test for color bleeding in a hidden area of the garment before proceeding with stain removal. Using a white towel apply a small amount of the solution onto the towel and dab a hidden area of the garment. If color transfers to the towel re-evaluate the use of the product and technique. Rubbing and scrubbing can cause excess color lost.

Finish by cleaning the entire item as recommended by the care label.
