How to Remove Pineapple Juice Stains.

Pineapple Juice is a highly acidic tannin stain. Following are a couple of green products and techniques that I use as a certified professional green dry cleaner that you can use at home.

Use the stain removal product to test the garment for colorfastness before attempting any stain removal techniques.

A Spotting Solution;

Dawn Dishwashing Liquid

1.      Create a spotting solution with 1 part Dawn Dishwashing Liquid and 3 parts water.

2.      Apply the solution directly to the pineapple juice stain.

3.      Let the solution penetrate the pineapple juice stain for a few minutes

4.      Blot area with a wet towel followed by a dry towel.

Sodium Borate;

1.      Create a soaking solution in a small bucket with 2 ounce of Borax per 1 gallon of water.

2.      Soak the entire garment in the Borax solution.

3.      Let the garment soak for 1-2 hours.

4.      Rinse with fresh water.

Are We Done Yet?

Which ever techniques used, whether blotting the stain or soaking the entire garment, clean the entire garment as recommended by the care label.
